Position of Research Engineer now available

We are pleased to announce a new opening for a RESEARCH ENGINEER to support two labs on UBC campus involved in robotics and biomechanics. The staff position reports to the Directors of the CARIS Lab and the Sensorimotor Systems Lab in the ICICS Building.
The research engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and integration of new mechatronic equipment, such as robots, grippers, automated wheelchairs and haptic input devices, as well as the design, specification, acquisition and implementation of electromechanical components such as sensors and motors. The position also entails the technical supervision of undergraduates, graduate student and post-doctoral fellows.
The applicant will have at least 5 years of education+experience with demonstrated mechanical, electrical and electronic expertise, as well as programming expertise in computer-aided design, instrumentation software such as LabVIEW and analysis software such as Matlab.
