[Call for Volunteers] Sorting Hearts and Circles with a Robot – A Human-Robot Collaboration Study

At the CARIS Lab (ICICS building, x015), we are conducting an exciting human-robot interaction experiment to investigate whether a robot that uses humanlike gestures can work as a better teammate than robots that don’t when humans and robots collaborate with each other.

We would like to invite you to participate in our study. It will take no more than 45 minutes of your time, and you will be asked to interact with a robot at our lab. The study will involve you wearing a cable-based sensor on your finger while sorting a number of small objects in collaboration with a robot. Prior to the experiment and between the sessions of sorting task, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire. At the very end of the experiment, we will ask you for your feedback on the robot’s behaviours. The experiment will be video recorded as part of the experiment as well as for analysis purposes. However, the recordings will not be made public without your consent.

We believe that the results of our study will contribute to creating a friendly human-robot shared workspace environment.

A consent form will be available on site, as well as prior to the experiment. You will be required to complete the form in order to participate in the study.

To participate in the study, or have concerns about the study, please contact:
